Desserts for the modern pleasure seeker
Sisters Joan Pacetti and Julia Schmid recalled childhood memories of baking with mom in coming up with the idea for the Cookie Dough Cafe (120 NW 13th Ave, 503-477-7985, thecookiedoughcafe.com), which solves an enduring problem you never realized you had: not enough dough in your bowl of cookie-dough ice cream.
Here, you can order confetti, Oreo, gluten-free oatmeal–chocolate chip, and other flavors of gooey, chewy unbaked dough without having to shovel through a distracting mound of ice cream. Dairy devotees, fear not: Halfies (half dough, half ice cream) are also available.
