In the Fall of 2017, the Pearl District Business Association (PDBA) opened nominations for the third annual Pearl District Business Awards to recognize individuals and businesses that are making a difference within Portland’s flourishing Pearl District. River Pig Derby Day

The spirited team at River Pig Saloon presented a rollicking three-day Block Party May 4–6 to celebrate First Thursday, Cinco de Mayo, and—featuring races among some truly adorable pigs—Kentucky Derby Days. Fantastic beer, food, and fun was had by all. Photos by Paul Wagtouicz  

Pints in the Pearl – 2017

The beloved craft-beer festival returned to NW 13th Avenue on June 3. Suds lovers enjoyed live music, great food, and stellar sips from 10 Barrel Brewing, BridgePort Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, Fat Heads Brewery, and BackPedal. The PDBA was especially excited this year to collaborate with Portland Northwest College of Art (PNCA) on creating the festival

Pearl Pix – Cider Summit

Artisanal ciders are all the rage in the Northwest these days, and legions of the beverage’s ardent devotees came out June 17–18 to Fields Park to attend this rousing celebration featuring ciders from some 150 of the top producers in the world. Proceeds help benefit several local charities.

Holiday Tree Lighting

Festive revelers gathered in Jamison Square Park on November 28 to kick off the holiday season with caroling, conversation, and the illumination of the Pearl’s stately 30-foot-tall tree.

Pearl District Block Party

On September 11, the Pearl District Neighborhood Association welcomed residents, workers, and more than a few visitors for great food, live music and dancing, and craft beverages from Rogue Distillery and Public House during the 24th annual installment of this fête and fundraiser on NW 13th Avenue. Portlanders and the Sun Came Out for the Pearl Bunny Hop!

Hundreds of children and their parents enjoyed the Pearl District Hippity Hop Bunny Hop festivities this past Easter Weekend.
