2019 Design Week Portland
Five Pearl District businesses participated in this annual event that unites some of the city’s most creative enterprises. Really BIG Video provided video screens, and the Trail Blazers presented their Gameday poster series at Gallery IDL. Participants at the Wacom + Vectornator Design Challenge created logo designs using Wacom Bamboo Smartpads at the Wacom Experience Center. Cerulean hosted Design in One Contemporary Photographer’s Work in their tasting room. Salvador Orara, President of AIGA’s Portland chapter, spoke at the PNCA’s FuckUp Nights: Failure by Design.
Hippity Hop Bunny Hop
One of the neighborhood’s most beloved holiday events drew kids and adults to Jamison Square Park on Saturday, April 20. There were photos with the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, and art projects and a raffle with prizes donated by 17 businesses, including Pregame, New Avenues Ink, Portland Child Art Studio, Keen, LunchBox, and Penzeys. Micah & Me entertained the crowds with family-friendly tunes.
PDBA Networking Event
Pearl business owners and employees gathered at the stylish, community-spirited shoe store TOMS, on West Burnside, March 21. Colleagues enjoyed delicious food from Montesacro Pinseria Romana (see our story about this new hot spot on page 16), Cookie Dough Café, and Garden Bar.
