Living Room Realty Announces New Scholarship

Living Room Realty Scholarship

The scholarship will help facilitate a path toward a real estate career for underrepresented communities

Portland real estate company, Living Room Realty (1636 NW Lovejoy Street), has created the Living Room Realty Excellence in Diversity Scholarship. The scholarship was introduced to facilitate a path toward a real estate career for those that would otherwise find the costs of pursuing a real estate career a financial burden.

With a total award of $15,000, the scholarship is designed to cover the basic expenses of becoming a licensed realtor, and also includes additional educational and marketing support to help the recipient develop thriving, sustainable real estate business.

Jenelle Isaacson, the founder of Living Room Realty, believes that this scholarship opportunity underscores their unwavering commitment to their values and their mission to develop vibrant communities. “Living Room Realty was founded on a strong set of values and diversity is first and foremost,” said Issacson. “We prioritize understanding the needs and aspirations of our friends and neighbors and want to do our part to support and create opportunities for them.”

The scholarship recognizes the potential of applicants, who through sharing their varied cultural perspectives will enhance the real estate community in Portland while increasing their own chances for personal homeownership and financial security.

Selection criteria for choosing the 2019 recipient of the Living Room Realty Excellence in Diversity Scholarship includes past academic performance, professional experience, and community involvement. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need, are non-homeowners, have been residents of the Portland metro area for 10 or more years and are from underrepresented racial or ethnic minorities and/or who identify as LGBTQA.

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is September 15, 2019, and the winner will be notified by October 15th. Potential candidates can learn more and apply for the scholarship at their website.
